An association for retired Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), the ‘Assocjazzjoni Suldati Pensjonanti’ (ASP) is being purposely set up, with the aim of improving the conditions of those ex-Servicemen who have completed their career in uniform under arms.

Mr Gino Lombardi, the public relations officer of ASP said in a statement that the organisation also welcomes dependents or widows of AFM ex-Servicemen. An inaugural meeting to launch the ASP and for all those interested in joining the association is being held at 5pm next Monday, November the 12th, at the General Workers’ Union hall, in Valletta.
