Update: Donations have been flooding in for Istrina since it got underway at noon today, the running total stands at over €700,000 so far. Apart from the telephone lines and SMS, it is also possible to make online donations through the facebook page here.

The annual charity fund raising marathon L-Istrina gets underway today and activities start in Malta at midday.

Istrina events in Gozo are taking place at the Aurora Theatre in Victoria and will be attended by the President of Malta Dr George Abela.

The Istrina Day 2012 event organised by the theatre will take the form of a special 3-hour show of the best local talent, as well as live links and it will all get underway at 7pm, ticket price is €5 each, with all the profits going to Istrina 2012.
