The Annual General Meeting of the Xaghra Scout Group took place on Saturday at the Xaghra Primary School.

Each section from the Group presented a video highlighting activities that had taken place during the previous year, together with a play or song. A play titled “Il-Mahrubin u x-Xjuh” was performed by the scouts while the beaver colony sang “Jingle Bells.” A play “Ikla Fis-Skiet” adapted from Carmel G. Cauchi’s Mastru Gerfex was performed by the Gold Arrow Cubs. The song “Oh Come all ye Faithful” was sung by the Tenderpaw, Bronze Arrow and Silver Arrow Cubs. Malcolm Borg accompanied these cubs on the piano and also played “Fur Elise” composed by Beethoven.

An election for the new group council also took place together with the launching of the 5th edition of the magazine “L-Iskawt Xaghri.”

Apart from these, the best member from each section was awarded. Ryan Muscat won the Best Beaver Scout, Matthew Xuereb won the Best Cub Scout and Christopher Galea won the Best Scout of the year 2012.
