Today, the Police arraigned under arrest in Court before Magistrate Dr G Grixti LL.D., 27-year old Christian Gauci, and 30-year old Carl Borg, both residing in Mellieha.

They were accused for having on the 18th April 2013 at around 1.30pm, while they were in the Ghadira area, limits of Mellieha, had a loaded firearm in their possession in a place where hunting is not permitted and also for hunting or trying to hunt birds in a bird sanctuary, among other charges.

Christian Gauci alone was also accused of relapsing.

Christian Gauci pleaded guilty as charged and Carl Borg pleaded not guilty.

Bail was not granted and were escorted to Cordin Corrective Facility. Sentence to be given in the coming days.

The prosecution in this case was led by Inspector Ramon Mercieca.
