GUG praises Maria Attard as a 'Woman Inspiring Europe'The Gozo University Group has said that it would like to congratulate Ms Maria Attard, a well-known Gozitan activist and director of Dar Guzeppa Debono in Ghajnsielem, for the acknowledgement of her work by the European Institute for Equality between the Sexes who have named her as one of the ‘Women Inspiring Europe.’

The European Institute for Gender Equality has published a calendar featuring ‘Women inspiring Europe.’

The EIGE aims in promoting gender equality together with fighting and raising awareness on gender issues. By means of this calendar, the Institute gives evidence and at the same time, pays homage to some of Europe’s most remarkable ladies.

GUG said that as an organisation that prioritises the dignity and quality of life of Gozitan students, it looks up to Ms Attard and others like her who dedicate so much time and energy in creating opportunities and pushing for change that enables many people to reach their full potential in life.

“We hope that this appreciation for Ms Attard’s work not only motivates her to continue on her projects but also inspires us and others to follow in her footsteps and take a more active role in our community,” GUG concluded.

Maria Attard, Director of Guzeppa Debono Home of Ghajnsielem was chosen and is featured on the calendar for the month of November.
