Thirty-nine athletes participated at another edition of the Racket Tournament held recently at the Sports Complex in Victoria, Gozo.
This tournament included four sports competitions played by racket – Table and Lawn Tennis, Badminton and Squash. The winners in this tournaments were: George Camilleri – Lawn Tennis, Jason Vassallo – Table Tennis, Mark Sacco – Squash, Xavier Wambergue and Julie Wiltshire – Badminton.
Over the past year, the Sports Complex in Gozo, held other tournaments including the martial arts seminar in October and Futsal Championship in July. Every other week adults also participate in classes of Pilates, Aerobics and Fitness. Every Saturday there are sessions of SkolaSport, where thirteen different types of sport are taught to about 280 students, their age ranges between five and thirteen years.
SkolaSport recently launched an initiative in aid of Puttinu Cares where students are able to donate in aid of the organisation.
The Minister for Gozo, Dr. Anton Refalo attended the Racket Tournament.
