The valley at the back of the houses at Simirat Street in Ghajnsielem has been cleared of weeds and unwanted undergrowth including sand and building material.

The recently completed project was carried out by the Ghajnsielem Local Council and was funded through eco-Gozo.

This is the first time that this area has been cleaned in the last 54 years.

The whole valley, starting from beneath the archs at Borg Gharib street, leading to the valley beneath the Amabile Cauchi Playing Field, has now been restored to its original state.

The Council said that during excavation works an old well was discovered below the reservoir wall.
