The European Parliament Office in Malta has organised the event ‘Europe for Gozo,’ which will be an opportunity to meet your MEPs and discuss the representation of Gozo at EU level.
MEPs John Attard-Montalto, Joseph Cuschieri and Roberta Metsola will be there to discuss matters regarding the representation of the interests of the Gozitan electorate at the European level.
The concerns, the ideas, the topics on the minds of the Gozitan Youths, the Gozitan Businesses, the NGOs and the citizens in general.
The discussion will then be followed by sectorial workshops. One of the themes in these workshops as well as in the public dialogue, will be Gozo’s double insularity and the conditioning that this brings to the exploitation of the Union’s Internal Market.
MEP Roberta Metsola who is a Substitute Member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will be attending the event.
The event will conclude with a reception and an art exhibition.
The event will take place on Friday, the 31st of May, at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, starting at 3.00pm.
Register by calling 21235075 or send an email on epvalletta@ep.europa.eu.

Perhaps MEP Roberta Metsola who is a Substitute Member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection can answer the governments stance on the injustice of service charges levied on EEC nationals now resident on Malta and Gozo ? Perhaps she could also answer problems with the ID. Cards as well ? After all she is responsible for consumer protection. Or is it a case of we will take the benefit of membership of the EEC but not respect the rights of the EEC nationals living on these islands regardless of how much “aliens” contribute to the economy
