Din l-Art Helwa has expressed its concern that the Government is “entertaining the idea of constructing a bridge across the Gozo channel.”
The Government has announced the commissioning of a 15-month study worth 4 million euros to investigate the feasibility of this project described by the NGO as “being totally unacceptable.”
“A bridge between Malta and Gozo would have enormous visual impact,” says Din l-Art Helwa, “and would destroy one of the most scenic, traditional and beautiful views of the Maltese Islands so important if we are to retain our island quality and sense of identity.”

€4,000,000 to look at a possible bridge? You could sort out the Ecards fiasco for less
The study is costing Malta nothing at all if you read the article.
it should be a good deal a bridge is more safe from a tunnel it will benefit for both islands
The bridge will have to be closed down during high winds so why is that safer than a tunnel?
Agree with Din l-Art Helwa. This would be a monstrosity.
A very important subject that the president of Malta should look into is that the pipes that water flow through in Malta are extremely old. Keep in mind that just because the pipes are new in flats and houses and new hotels, the water still flows through these extremely old pipes to get to all the new flats etc. This is definetly a health hazard and the old pipes should be replaced. This should be among our first concern
