Around 500 musicians will perform the works of over 170 composers during the five-week Victoria International Arts Festival 2013 which started last Wednesday.

Considered as the brain child of the resident choir at St George’s Basilica under the Artistic Direction of Prof. Joseph Vella, the Victoria International Arts Festival, this year will also see the performance of rare Baroque masterpieces over a period of five days, featuring performers from England, Italy, Norway, Germany, Albania and, of course, Malta.

Once again this year, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the Festival’s Artistic Director, Prof Mro Joseph Vella, will inaugurate and close the 5-week run of concerts with grandeur and style.

The Bank’s sponsorship was presented by Jack Thewma, Manager Bank of Valletta Gozo branch, to the Festival’s artistic Director Prof. Mro. Joseph Vella.
