Gharb Council request nominations for Gharb Day awards

Gharb Day is celebrated annually by the Gharb Local Council on the 29th August. Among various activities, different awards are presented, in particular the, ‘Premju Gharb’ (Gharb Award), ‘Premju Qlub Generuzi,’ (Award for Generosity) and ‘Premju Volontarjat Lokali’ (Volunteering Award).
This year, the Council decided to invite all residents to submit their nominations for a person/s who in their opinion deserves to be presented with one of these awards.
Those who are interested in submitting a nomination are kindly requested to collect the regulations from the Local Council or it is available for download here. More than one person/s can be nominated for each of the awards mentioned above.
It is important to note that those submitting the nominations are to write down their names, address and phone/mobile number in order to enable the Council to have a contact in case more details or information is required about the nominated person/s.
Nominations are to be submitted by not later than Friday, the 16th of August, 2013.
In 2012 the award winners were:
Gharb Award – Presented to Sr. Rachele Agius
Qlub Generuzi Award – Presented to Lorna Cassar
Volontarjat Lokali Award – Presented to Christan Attard, Mario Portelli, Joseph Cauchi Formosa and Joseph Cauchi Bajada.
Literacy Award – Presented to Maria Mizzi and Christine Portelli
Gharb Gozitan Cultural Award – Presented to Church Museum Ecclesia Mater.
