A record 70,196 passengers crossed over to Gozo during the Santa Marija week, the Ministry of Gozo said today, an increase of 4652 passengers compared to last year when the figure was 65 544.

17,725 vehicles crossed on the ferries, an increase of 1243 over last year. There were 242 ferry crossings made by Gozo Channel.

The Ministry thanked the workers on Gozo Channel and said that “these figures confirm the potential that this island has. It also shows that as the number of tourists to this island continue to rise, so must the services that are provided and every effort is being made to meet the expectations of those visiting the island.”

The Ministry for Gozo said that together with Gozo Channel it will continue to work hard to provide a good service to ensure that Gozo is more accessible for everyone
