The Gozo University Group said today that it is pleased to hear that the Government has allocated a further €2 million, obtained from EU employment aid funds, towards employment schemes in Gozo.

“As the organisation that constantly strives for more career opportunities would enable Gozitans to have a solid future on their home island,” GUG said it “approves and encourages this incentive.”

GUG added, “we recognise that this financial aid, which will be provided through ETC, marks a step forward in the development of Gozo’s potential – particularly in light of the fact that over 20% of recent funds distributed through ETC have also served to better employment prospects on Gozo.”

GUG concluded by saying that it “looks forward to seeing the results achieved by use of these funds as it believes that every Gozitan has the right to a solid future in Gozo which can only be brought about by an increase in realistic career opportunities on the island.”
