The Police have warned that several people have reported receiving text messages or phone calls from a foreign number, which have been identified as scams.

The SMS has been reproduced by the Police and is shown in the photograph above, they said that those who received the phone call have reported a male voice who claimed that they had won a lottery, before then requesting their bank details.

The Police warned that such information should never be divulged under these circumstances, adding that, “when something is too good to be true, it may be fraud!”
