Early this morning President George Abela, with his wife, children and grandchildren, left Malta on an official visit to Rome to meet His Holiness Pope Francis inside the Vatican.
The President is accompanied on the visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs George W. Vella.
The President and Mrs Abela are expected return on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Ms Dolores Cristina is the Acting President.
