Delivery of voting documents for upcoming European Elections

The Electoral Commission has advised that for persons in Malta and Gozo whose name is included in the Electoral Register published on the 7th of April, 2014, that Police Officers will be delivering voting documents at registered addresses as from Saturday, the 12th April to Friday, the 2nd of May, 2014.

Voting documents will be delivered from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 3.00pm to 9.00pm on all days including Saturdays, Sundays and 1st May. However, no deliveries will be made on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.

It is necessary that at the place of residence there will be a responsible person who is over 18 years of age to receive and sign for the voting documents. The Electoral Law permits political party representatives to accompany police officers during delivery of voting documents pertaining to the election for MEPs. These representatives are being supplied with authorisation permits by the Electoral Commission to be shown on demand.

The voting document should be kept in a safe place, as nobody will be allowed to vote without it on the day of the poll, Saturday, the 24th of May, 2014.
