Gozo Bishop pays courtesy visit to President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

The Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech, paid a courtesy visit on Monday to President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, during which the President said that having an office in Gozo, will give the opportunity of easier accessibility for the Gozitans to the Office of Presidency.
President Coleiro Preca also said that children will be a top priority of this Presidency.
She explained the proposal for the appointment of a Guardian ad litem during any adoption process, to ensure that the best interest of the child is safeguarded.
The President also spoke about the recent increase in the numbers of unaccompanied minors, saying that they should also be given the necessary support .
On his part, Mons. Mario Grech thanked the President for the visibility that she will be giving to Gozo. He also mentioned that the number of immigrants has increased on Gozo, saying that a report has therefore been commissioned on the situation, which he will go through with the President.
The Bishop went on to say that it is very important that the state takes care of the interests of children, who are at the forefront among the vulnerable, adding that is a wonderful thing that society expresses its affection for the children.
Bishop Mario Grech said that he appreciated the desire expressed by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca that more attention be given by the authorities to ensure the best interest of the child is safeguarded during an adoption process.
