Industrial Production up 1.1% in March, but down 1.3% over last year

Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 1.1 per cent in March over the previous month. When compared to March 2013, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 1.3 per cent.

Monthly comparison

In March, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production increased by 1.1 per cent to 101.3 points. Increases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (+2.9 per cent) and energy (+1.3 per cent). On the other hand, decreases were registered in the production of consumer goods (-4.9 per cent) and capital goods (-3.7 per cent).

Annual comparison

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 1.3 per cent. Decreases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (-2.7 per cent), capital goods (-0.7 per cent), consumer goods (-0.6 per cent) and energy (-0.3 per cent).
