The Xewkija Local Council last week organised an outing for the elderly to Malta. The day started with a visit to Mellieha, where the Local Council of Mellieha provided the group with a very enjoyable breakfast.

The tour then headed to Birkirkara for some time at the market (Monti). From there, they proceeded to Blata l-Bajda to visit the tomb of Saint George Preca and to hear Mass.

For lunch the group was taken to the Kitchen Garden situated in the Presidential Palace where they enjoyed lunch and a game of tombola. The final stop before heading to Gozo was the Kiabi shopping centre in Qormi.
