New complaints mechanism being launched on Residences for the ElderlyThe Parliamentary Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing will be launching a new mechanism for complaints about Residences for the Elderly.

The Secretariat will be creating a new email address to be used specifically for these cases, as well as a dedicated land line phone number.

The team responsible will be logging any complaints and will then pass them directly on to the people concerned. The team will also compile a detailed report of the work that needs to be done in each respective residence.

The Secretariat sad that this initiative is part of the Government’s work to improve care for the elderly, complying with the National Minimum Standards for Residences for the Elderly.
