This weekend on Gozo sees the start of a new Festival, ‘Sunscape – Art, Music, Lifestyle, Nature,’ organised by Provoque Lifestyle Group. This festival will take place at Ramla Bay, between Friday, the 5th of September and Monday, the 8th of September.
The picturesque beach of Ramla will serve as a background for the festival, the first of this type held on the island, which the organisers describe an activity of original aptitude.
“It will be an experience for music enthusiasts, a mixture of art and lifestyle Activities based on spirituality, love towards the environment and the spirit of community.”
A well known DJ in the international music scene will be appearing for the first time on the island, Mr Scruff, will be playing alongside other renowned artists such as Mandy, Sebo K, Rodriguez Jr and Pig & Dan.
The Festival events will include sessions of among others: yoga, body painting, and an introduction to digital photography, with the aim of helping participants capture the environmental area of the beach.
Present for today’s launch was the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, who said that, Gozo in its uniqueness, is offering a distinct tourism product that allows the island to promote itself as a tourist destination.
“Unique features of the island, such as its cultural identity, the environment and the countryside are factors that make this island different.” He added that the Ministry for Gozo is fully committed to this island, offering innovative initiatives focusing on its unique elements.
The Government’s work is focused on three areas, providing effective promotion which should lead to attracting more tourists to cross over to Gozo, and that during their stay on the island; these same tourists spend more nights in Gozo; as well as specifically to attract tourists to the island of Gozo, the Minister said.
Dr Refalo wished every success for the Festival and thanked its organisers for making such a commitment by deciding to hold the event on Gozo.
