Large crowds have been enjoying the second day of ‘Festubru 2014 Tradition – Food – Folklore.’ The inclement weather has not slowed the festivities down, with tours of the valley held this morning, as well as weaving demonstrations.This annual family festival held in the Lunzjata Valley, just on the borders of Victoria and Kercem, concludes this evening.There are various attractions and exhibitions featuring farming tools and animals used by our forefathers. An interesting attraction will be the art of wool weaving. Local fresh products and preservatives will be available to purchase.This evening’s programme is as follows:

5.00 pm. The Pressing of Olives and the production of Olive Oil

6.30 pm. Traditional Wine Tavern and Local Food – Serving of local wine from the renowned Bacchus Winery and traditional food, fresh vegetables and fruit tables together with several other stands bearing local products.

Fjakkolata – The lighting up of traditional lights and candlelight around the valley

8.00 pm. A full show on the main stage involving amongst others Ta’ Seguna Folk Group, Gozo Drum Tribe goes Electronic, Traditional Folk Dance and Songs by Astra Folk Group and Cini Brothers.

This festival, organised by the Ghaqda Muzikali San Girgor of Kercem in collaboration with the Kercem Local Council.and the Ministry for Gozo.

Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy this festival.
