‘Il-Hajja Sabiha – Life is Beautiful,’ a mosaic mural, which has been installed in the foyer of Tal-Ibragg Hospital in Victoria, was officially inaugurated on Friday by Dr Franco Mercieca, Chairman of the Strategic Leadership Board of the Gozo General Hospital.

This mosaic mural is the handiwork of some twenty members of support groups Step Ahead and Step Ahead Junior, which are led by Pauline Camilleri, Jeanette Falzon and Marlene Cauchi.Mosaic artist, Mary Portelli, guided the group in making the 4.3 metre long mural. The scene depicts items which evoke a sense of well-being for these members and took 7 months to complete.

The project was primarily aimed at promoting social inclusion, empowering life skills through collaboration, decision making, reaching common goals, life long learning, openness to new ideas and willingness to learn.

Certificates of participation were presented to the team members who took part in the project.

Gozo General Hospital CEO, Dr Nadine Delilcata, Pauline Camilleri, Marlene Cauchi and Mary Portelli and project participants were present for the event.

This project was supported by the Ministry for Finance, the Malta Community Chest Fund and Bank of Valletta.
