New issue announced of fixed rate Malta Government stocks

The Accountant General has announced the issue of €120,000,000 Malta Government Stocks subject to an over-allotment option of an additional sum of €60,000,000 as follows:

(i) 2% Malta Government Stock 2020 (V) Fungibility Issue, and

(ii) 3% Malta Government Stock 2040 (I), or

(iii) any combination of the above two Stocks which shall in the aggregate be Euro 120,000,000.

Applications open on Monday, the 23rd of February, 2015 at 8.30am and close on the time and dates as hereunder, or earlier at the discretion of the Accountant General:

at 5.00 p.m. on Wednesday, the 25th of February, 2015 for applications by any single and/or joint applicants which in the aggregate do not exceed Euro100,000 per person, and

at 12.00 (noon) on Monday, the 2nd of March, 2015 for applications in the form of sealed bids (auction).

The price of each Stock at (i) and (ii) above, offered for subscription by members of the public will be established on Thursday 19th February, 2015. Such price will be announced to the Malta Stock Exchange and published in the daily local newspapers and through a Press Release by the Department of Information (DOI).

The allotment results of each stock to applicants whose applications are in the form of sealed bids (auction) will be determined and announced two hours immediately after the closing time of applications by auction.

Application forms may be obtained from and lodged at, all members of the Malta Stock Exchange and other authorised Investment Service Providers.

Application forms may be downloaded also from the Treasury’s website with effect from Friday 20th February, 2015.
