Team Greens Cycling Club in Malta is inviting all clubs and their members in Malta and Gozo, for the third edition of the Gozo Classic Road Race which is being held in Xaghra on Sunday, the 1st of March 2015.

The cycling club said that it is proud to once again organise a race on one of the most spectacular road racing circuits on the island of Gozo. “A great effort had been made in order to secure permits from various authorities to hold this event. We urge everyone to cross the channel and experience the third edition of this popular race.”Team Greens are organising the race in collaboration with the Gozo Sports Board, The Gozo Police and Greens Supermarket, and with the assistance of the Gozo Greyhounds Sports Club.

Start at: 9:30am, Meeting Point: Main Road Leading to Xaghra Square, Participation Fee: Adults: €10.00 – Under15: €5.00 – Nurseries Free, Circuit distance: 4.5km.Other info:

This event is being organised following MCF race regulations.

MCF race numbers are to be used.

Lapped riders may be stopped from the race if ordered by race officials

No Team cars will be allowed on circuit however team helpers with spare wheels can be positioned anywhere on the circuit.

Feeding is allowed from anywhere on the circuit as long as it is safe to do so.

Feeding is to be made on the left hand side of the road only.

Public transport and coaches will be allowed to pass.

Circuit will be closed to traffic, however existing parked cars will not be removed. We will make every effort to keep the circuit car free however be careful to any existing parked car.

Traffic rules are to be followed and riders are to stay on the side of normal traffic flow.

We will have marshals in strategic points however it is the riders’ responsibility to race in a safe manner without taking excessive risks in blind corners and/or junctions.

Team Greens said that it will not take any responsibility for reckless and dangerous race conduct.

The race is part of the MCF race calendar and may be subject to anti-doping controls.

“A prize ceremony will be held shortly after the finish. We invite everyone to remain in the area for the presentation.”
