Gozitan artist Michael Cutajar Zahra’s first Sacred Art Exhibition – Divinità – opened at Il-Hagar – Heart of Gozo Museum, in St George’s Square, Victoria, on Friday evening and has been warmly received by those who have visited.
Michael was born in Victoria in 1990. And from an early age he showed interest in the work of his father Joseph Cutajar Zahra. Michael also did his best to experiment with different media and from there onwards he showed a good deal of artistic abilities.
Michael took his compulsory education in Victoria, both in the Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School and the Ninu Cremona Lyceum Complex. At the age of fifteen he decided to take art seriously and make a living from it.
He is very interested in the world of three-dimensional art and presently he works in his father’s workshop situated within their own residence in Victoria.
Michael said that in future he aspires not only to continue in this line, which his father had started, but also to undertake several important art commissions both locally and overseas.
The exhibition remains open to the public until Sunday, the 5th of April, from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
