Students aged between 18 to 30 years of age who wish to pursue their studies abroad can once again benefit from for the Youth Specialisation Studies Scheme, a soft loan available at a subsidised interest rate, thanks to a collaboration between Agenzija Zghazagh and APS Bank.

This scheme was launched this week at the Agenzija Zghazagh premises in St Venera, and it was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, Hon. Chris Agius, Agenzija Zghazagh Chief Executive Officer, Ms Miriam Teuma, and APS Bank’s Head of Advances, Mr Edward Calleja, among others.

The YSSS, which has been running for the past two decades, has helped more than 370 students take the next step in their academic career, and this new call promises to attract more students, especially those who are interested in one of the following areas: aerospace, health and biotechnology, digital games production, environment, agriculture and marine studies, youth work, sport, nature conservation, the arts and specialised restoration.

Students who will benefit of this scheme may apply for a loan between €10,000 and €30,000 which are repayable over a maximum period of 10 years.

The YSSS carries a number of additional features such as a maximum moratorium of five years (depending on the duration of the course being pursued) as well as free travel insurance, free VISA Debit Card for the first year and Purchase Protection.
