The Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo has launched the second edition of Discover your talent, this year called Snap – A Photographic venture. This follows on from the success of last year where students demonstrated their creativity in drawing.

This year the Gozo Cultural Council within the Ministry for Gozo is launching the competition on photography. The aim is to encourage students to explore their ability, in terms of the art of photography.

This competition is open to students of Form 3 and will be held in two state secondary schools and two Church secondary schools.

Students are being asked to take pictures of Gozo landscapes or photographs of local traditions. The photographs will eventually be put on exhibition to the public.

It is hoped that through this competition more students will be encouraged to take up the art of photography. “The Ministry is working to create more opportunities for children and young people, who have great potential to offer the community,” the Minister for Gozo said.

The Gozo Cultural Council is collaborating with four secondary schools, as well as the Gozo Photographic Association to organise this project.
