Silvio Debono, the President of the Board of Governors of MCAST, has said that it is to undergo a major upgrading of the courses it offers with the college being divided into three departments.

In order to strengthen its focus on the different needs of students at these different levels, MCAST will be introducing three colleges under the MCAST umbrella, namely the Foundation College, the Technical College and the University College.

It will be offering masters degrees for the first time (level seven). The University College will be accredited as a vocational university, with the changes planed to take place over the next three years.

MCAST has also just launched its new logo and corporate identity to reflect the current developments in its organisational structure. “These new structural developments will enable it to grow and strengthen all the different areas of its wide-ranging remit for the benefit of its students,” said MCAST

“These changes will build on the excellent work done by different administrations in the past to build MCAST as the strong institution it is today.”

MCAST said it will remain one organisation incorporating all levels, from Level 1 to Level 6, and emphasising the possibility of one continuous and strong pathway between the different levels.
