Kercem hosted Giochi – it’s a knockout as part of the events organised for the the Beer & Wine Festival which took place at the newly inaugurated garden – Gnien il-Familja.

The games and entertainment attracted good crowds, cheering their teams on through the many games.The participating teams were made up from different entities in Kercem such as the Band Club, Football Club, tan-Nar (fireworks team), ta l-armar and even the members of the Local Council including the Mayor and Councillors took part in the games.

Which leads on well to the announcement of the winning team on the night – the Council team with 33 pts, followed by the Band/football team with 32 points, then Ghajntuta with 30 pts, tas-Sokkors (armar) 19 pts and finally tan-Nar 17 pts.

The games were very exciting and the teams were very close till the end, as indicated by the final points tally.Entertainment provided during the evening included a Farsa (comedy sketch) as well as many singers such as Renato, local singers and dancers, and some from Malta, all adding up to a great night with lots of fun and laughter.

Games were also organised for the public to take part in, with prizes for the winners.

The organisers gave thanks to the Kercem Local council and all the committees for their support.

The Council team will now go on to represent Kercem in the final, which is being held in Marsalforn on the 10th of September.

The next event is the Final, with the winning teams all participating from: Zebbug, Xaghra, Xewkija, Sannat, Kercem, Xlendi/Munxar and Gozo General Hospital Victoria.

Sponsors for the events are TcTc, Arkadia, Gozo Express and Errea. Whichever team wins the final wins a smart watch for each player and vouchers from the sponsors.
