The warm days over the long Christmas weekend attracted thousands of visitors to cross over from Malta to visit Gozo to enjoy the many events planned as part of the Christmas in Gozo programme.

According to Gozo Channel, up to Boxing Day more than ten thousand passengers crossed to Gozo, and over 2,000 cars, with long queues also reported yesterday stretching from Mellieha to Cirkewwa, waiting to cross.

Gozo Channel had 3 ships in service to cope with the demand.
