A reminder that applications for auditions are now open for the Astra Theatre's first ever live musical production, 'Grease – The Musical.

Grease needs no introductionRegarded as one of the most popular musicals of all time, and one of the longest running productions in Broadway, it propelled John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John to worldwide popularity.

Also a major box office hit on the West End, Grease will dance its way to Gozo, namely on to the Astra Theatre stage this April.

It will be under the musical direction of Mro Sigmund Mifsud with Julie Zahra as voice coach. Choreography by Nathalie Scortino and Chris Gatt will handle directing duties.

The Astra Theatre said that it is once more seeking to break new ground in Gozo, by creating an opportunity for fresh young talent to take centre stage in this new take of this evergreen musical.

The call is for all parts, main and chorus parts. The call is for people aged 18 to 28, able to sing and dance and enjoy rock 'n' roll and a great love story. There are also four non-singing parts for actors aged 40 and over.

Auditions will be held at the Astra Theatre, Victoria, Gozo, on Wednesday, the 10th of February, a Public Holiday.
