Be Enterprising, Succeed Together (BEST) is an Erasmus+ KA2 project between seven countries (schools) around Europe. This project is a two-year project and commenced in September 2014, with the participation of students from Gozo College Boys' Secondary School, Victoria.

The first project meeting was held in November 2014 at Gozo College Boys' Secondary School. Subsequent meetings were organised in Greece, Sicily, United Kingdom, and Norway while the two remaining meetings will be held in Poland – March 2016 and Estonia – May 2016 respectively.

All these meetings serve to plan and coordinate the activities ahead while evaluating and sharing feedback on the ones carried out. A whole array of projects and activities were organised throughout these two years as students across schools participated in setting up stalls, launching a job fair, organising mind maps, creating postcards, carrying out interviews, running events or leading a campaign while applying their entrepreneurial skills.

The organisers said that the success story behind the BEST array of experiences makes a strong argument for enterprise to be integrated in the curricula of schools.GC Boys’ Secondary School participated in Be Enterprising, Succeed Together projectGozo College Boys' Secondary School said that "retrospectively, our students have showed how they can be competent young business people, with excellent communication and organisational skills. By blending enterprise with education, school curricula enhance the skills that employers seek and allow students to create their own meaning of success. BEST has shown that through inventive projects, the seed of entrepreneurial behaviour can be sown."

"Enterprise education is a broad and complex subject, and from the preliminary contacts among the participatory teachers, in line with the rationale behind BEST project, it was agreed upon to work on enterprise education rather than just entrepreneurship."

"Enterprise differs from entrepreneurship in a few critical elements: enterprise education doesn't have to be only about business start-ups. Some students may well grow up to become entrepreneurs but others will use enterprise to positively impact their community, the employers they work for and their own professional prospects in the future," the school said.GC Boys’ Secondary School participated in Be Enterprising, Succeed Together project"In fact enterprise education activities throughout these two years had as their objectives personal development, communication competences, team working and problem solving skills, business and customer awareness and an enterprising attitude. BEST has come a long way by placing enormous value on employability skills, considering the dynamics of the labour market in this day and age."

"This project helped in no little way young students to learn how to be resilient, innovative and intellectually curious – all fundamental characteristics of entrepreneurs. Enterprise has played a key part in BEST project throughout these two years, embedded in every activity and meeting on the programme," the school said.

"This permitted students to both enhance their soft skills and learn the value of working together on a transnational level while tackling tasks which are career and business related."

Gozo College Boys' Secondary School concluded by saying that in hindsight the BEST project proved to be an excellent platform to bring enterprise education to life, using an infinity of resources while providing the opportunity for participating students to produce goodies and exchange them with each other across the participatory countries.
