The second edition of the Gozo Easter Festival – A celebration of the Resurrection, took place on Easter Sunday, in Victory Square Xaghra, between 8.30am and 8.30pm.

It was perfect weather for the event, with blue skies and warm sunshine to welcome the large crowds who turned out for the second edition of the festival.

There was a children's area, folk singing, dancing and traditional Maltese food. Entertainment was provided by The Tramps.At 6.00pm a demonstration with the statue of the Risen Christ, welcomed by cheering children waving flags, left the Basilica for a manifestation in Victory Square with the participation of the Victory Band. There was the traditional Blessing and distribution of Easter figolli.

This was followed at 7.00pm with an Easter Musical `I Will Rise and Live,' which was the highlight of the festival, and enjoyed by all those present.
