Memories of Gozo – an exhibition by Gozitan artist George Scicluna, was inaugurated on Saturday, by the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.

The artworks were introduced by Mr E.V.Borg, to the large audience present for this opening evening.

In this latest exhibition, George has created vast panoramic scenarios in fitful flashes and splashes, convulsive autobiographic snapshots of great immediacy, vigour and grandeur: a vision both impressive and expressive. With great freedom he seems to tear pages from his sketch books and collates them on a large surface to achieve a monumental spread as if clutching at life not wanting to let go. With determination and courage George faces life's vicissitudes and after deep reflection turns to action.

The exhibition is taking place at the Exhibition Hall of the Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria and will remain open to the public until Saturday, the 23rd of April.
