Front Harsien ODZ has reiterated its stance against all development on ODZ, in its latest objection to two separate planning applications to build old people's homes in Naxxar and Fgura.

The Front has appealed to the Planning Authority to "maintain the same line of reasoning that caused it to reject planning applications for both sites."

The Front said that it continues to emphasise that new development on ODZ land should be the very last option considered.

"The need for retirement homes must not serve as a pretext for further destruction of countryside and if suitable buildings cannot be found, re-development of buildings should be limited to their current footprint and no more."
