Colin Attard, the artistic director of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music, has just returned from the 3rd edition of the Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico Giovan Battista Rubini held at Romana di Lombardia (Bg), Italy, where he was a member of the festival's jury.

Mro Attard was the only foreigner on the jury, and was alongside some very important personalities in Italy's operatic sphere. These were Mro Fabrizio Carminati, one of Italy's foremost conductors, Fabio Tartari, choirmaster at Bergamo's Teatro Donizetti, Danilo Boaretto, director of Opera Click, Enrico Copedè director of the agency L'Opera, Edoardo Cavalli, artistic secretary at Bergamo's Teatro Donizetti, mezzo-soprano Elena Bresciani, a member of the organising committee, and baritone Marzio Giossi, the competition's artistic director and chairperson of the jury.

Mro Attard duly promoted the operatic performances being held in Gozo and Malta, while Gaulitana: A Festival of Music also established an important collaboration with the Concorso Lirico with one of the prizes being eventual participation in the forthcoming edition of festival.
