Thieves targeted a betting shop in Triq Patri Manwel Magri, in Victoria Gozo on Thursday evening and demanded that the female cashier on duty hand over cash.

Police said that the robbery took place at about 10pm. The cashier suffered from shock, but was not injured.

A 65-year-old Victoria resident was slightly injured during the robber and taken to Gozo General Hospital.

A magisterial inquiry has been appointed into the case.
