Zminijietna – Voice of the Left has said that it welcomes the position taken by the Planning Authority to refuse the proposed development application for a mega project in Hondoq ir-Rummien, Gozo, which consisted of a yacht marina, tourist village, villas, apartments and a hotel.

“With regards to the local plan in relation to the area, we appeal to the Minister for the Environment, the Planning Authority and the Opposition Party in parliament to revise policy so that the area is really safeguarded from unsustainable development. The disused quarry should be converted and regenerated into an afforestation project,” said Zminijietna.
