As part of the Government's strategy to aid and foster the local film industry, this year, the Malta Film Commission will be releasing a special edition of the Malta Film Fund.

This call for the production of original Maltese content will aid in the development of cinematographic art in our country. The goal of this special edition is to increase substantially the amount of Maltese and Gozitan films, particularly in preparation for the event of Malta's presidency of the European Union next year, and in 2018 when Valletta will be the European Capital of Culture.

This special edition of the Malta Film Fund will open on the 1st of September and will end on the 31st of October.

All applications are to be submitted to the MFC, by hand, by 12 noon on Monday, 31st October 2016.
