A group of altar boys from various parishes in Gozo and Malta were at Vatican City between the 5th and 23rd of August to offer liturgical services at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.

The altar boys had the opportunity on Sunday to meet with the Pope on the way back to his residence at Santa Marta, following the Angelus held at St. Peter's Square

Pope Francis asked for a group photo first and then the altar boys had the opportunity to speak with the Pope and to pray for him.

At the end of the meeting Pope Francis blessed them and thanked the altar-boys for their commitment, he also gave each of them rosary beads.

The altar-boys were accompanied on their time at the Vatican by Fr Frans Bonnici, Fr Mark Ellul and Seminarian Joseph A. Hili.
