Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna – the Malta Heritage Trust will be marking 8th September – Victory Day with a special event at the Saluting Battery which will culminate with a full-gun salute at midday.

The programme starts at 11.45am, which will be followed by guided tours in Maltese and English of the Saluting Battery and the War HQ Tunnels. The Saluting Battery will also stay open for the duration of the traditional Victory Day regatta.

The Saluting Battery offers an ideal vantage point from where all the boat races can be viewed. Normal entrance fee of €3 adults and €1 children u/16 years will apply.

Fees for the War HQ Tunnels are separate at €15 each and will include entrance to the Saluting Battery too. No fees apply to FWA members.

Programme for the 8th of September is as follows:

10.00am – Saluting Battery opens to the public

11.45am – Welcome speech & historic commentary

12.00pm – Firing of the Noon-day Gun followed by the full gun salute

12.20pm – 3.00pm – Guided tours of the Saluting Battery

12.30pm – 3.30pm – Guided tours of the War HQ Tunnels.

4.00pm – Firing of the evening gun

6..00pm – End of the traditional regatta – closure of the Saluting Battery.
