Held annually each September at the Malta International Airport (ex: RAF Luqa), the Malta International Air Show, one of Malta's largest outdoor events, has gained the well-earned reputation as one of Malta's top outdoor family events.

This year's edition on the 24th and 25th of September will feature two distinct venues, as the aerial display moves over to Smart City Malta, while the static display will remain at the airport.

Visitors to the Malta International Airshow 2016 will be able to enjoy watching the impressive line-up of aircraft at the airport, and later move on to Smart City Malta (limits of Xghajra/Kalkara) later on in the afternoon to enjoy the exciting displays of some unique aircraft and helicopters.

The Airshow gates (on the Hal Farrug Rd) open at 10am and close at 3.30pm. This will allow ample time to go over to Smart City Malta to watch the flying display which should start by 5.30pm and continues into the early evening with a memorable display of an aircraft formation performing with pyrotechnics to bring the show to a close.

On both Saturday and Sunday, there is a seating area at Smart City Malta, for those who want to watch the show in style, facing the open Mediterranean sea.

The flying display at Smart City Malta is free, whilst people visiting the Static Display at Malta International Airport will pay only €8. Enthusiasts Weekend ticket for only €50 it includes five day access.

All aircraft participating at the airshow will be part of the static display during the morning to enable visitors to get a closer look of all aircraft. Wings Enclosure will be set up at Smart City Malta.
