The Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo attended a soiree, an initiative of the Departments of English and Maltese at the Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare.

The Minister said that the event even not only celebrates the literary and artistic talents of William Shakespeare, but was also a celebration of the diverse talents of the sixth form students.

He wished every success to the students in their studies and to Anabelle Portelli on her new book of poetry Fjuret id-Demm, that will be published by the Institute itself.

Anabelle found that writing the poetry helped her get through sad experiences in her life. Dr Refalo thanked the teachers who believed in the potential of Anabelle and helped her achieve this dream.

The Minister for Gozo also had words of praise for the Head of School Daniel James Cassar, the Deputy Heads and the teachers who he said, work tirelessly in favour of the students to make their experience at the Institute a holistic one.
