The project “Strengthening European Traditions through Volunteering” by the Nadur Local Council within the framework of the “Europe for Citizens Programme” Action 1: Measure 1.1 ‘Town Twinning Citizens’ Meetings,’ was recently concluded by a visit to Parliamentary Secretary, Chris Said at his office in Castille.

The project in Nadur evolved over a week of activities mainly around the importance and need of voluntary work nowadays especially during this year dedicated to Volunteering.

The participants were able to develop and share techniques and discover common traditions and factors that unite them as Europeans.

The main-focus of this project was the Christmas Market held over last weekend in Nadur and a Seminar held on Saturday with the title “Strengthening Traditions through Voluntary Work.”

Nadur Local Council said, “volunteering is pivotal in the formation of characters and therefore societies at large. At Nadur this is still the main keystone of all activities held throughout the year by the Local Council and all other NGO’s who contribute towards a yearly calendar of events which are synonymous with Nadur.
