The Minister for Tourism Dr Edward Zammit Lewis and Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo, have launched this year’s calendar for the Gozo Christmas festive season during an event in Gozo, which was also attended by MTA Chairman Dr Gavin Gulia.

The event ‘Milied f’Ghawdex’ is supported by the Malta Tourism Authority. The MTA said that its aim in supporting this event is to market Gozo as a unique tourist destination for the Christmas season.

Minister Zammit Lewis stated that MTA recognises the importance of Gozo as part of its tourism strategy, and this is why MTA financially sustains this initiative. “MTA believes that such events are important because they are a fundamental component of the tourism product. MTA is instrumental in marketing the Maltese Islands’ rich calendar and the variety of events taking place throughout the year.”

“These activities enhance our visitors’ experience on the islands and they enrich their experience, making it one of quality and more interesting,” said Zammit Lewis. “Activities such as ‘Milied f’Ghawdex’ are unique products which can attract foreign tourists to visit our Islands specifically because of the event itself.”

Minister Zammit Lewis presented a donation of support to the organising committee of ‘Milied f’Ghawdex’ on behalf of the Malta Tourism Authority. Minister Refalo thanked the Ministry for Tourism and MTA for their continued support and for sustaining such initiatives which contribute to improve Gozo’s tourism.
