The Police have said that the 32-year old Polish man, who was rescued on Wednesday from the Blue Lagoon in Comino, passed away in hospital last night.
The man had found himself in difficulty while swimming in the bay and had been rescued by members of the Emergency Response & Rescue Corp of Gozo.
He was then assisted by a helicopter and medical team, before being transferred to the Gozo General Hospital.
