The Gozo Youth Wind Band & Orchestra has a busy schedule during the festive period. In fact, the Youth Band & Orchestra is engaged in four events, with a possibility of an additional concert.

On Monday the 1st of December, The Gozo Youth Wind Band – Woodwind Ensemble entertained a full-house audience in Fontana on the occasion of the Foundation Day Commemoration under the patronage of Dr Chris Said, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Public Dialogue.

On Saturday, the 13th of December, 2008 at 8pm at the Oratory Don Bosco in Victoria, it is The Gozo Youth Orchestra’s turn to perform in conjunction with The Helping Hands Group in the 1st Edition of The Gozo Christmas Show. The orchestra will accompany and provide musical material during a Nativity Play including Christmas Arrangements as well as Soundtracks from Christmas Movies.

The next day, Sunday, the 14th of December, 2008, from 6.00 – 7.00pm in the Arkadia Shopping Mall Grounds, The Gozo Youth Wind Band will entertain the general public with festive tunes and arrangements from films and musicals.

Then on the following Sunday, the 21st of December, at 8.00pm in St George’s Square, Victoria. or in case of bad weather at the Oratory Don Bosco, The Gozo Wind Band in collaboration with The Helping Hands Group will present the 7th Edition of Christmas with the Musicals.

Various arrangements of Christmas medleys and soundtracks from movie blockbusters featuring popular musicals from the West End and Broadway will be accompanied by The Helping Hands Group Theatre Experience Students, Adult Chorus and pop singers from Gozo and Malta. Guest singer will be Lawrence Gray.
