August is the popular holiday month for Gozitans and Maltese, and this can have an affect on the number people providing blood donations.

There is also the possibility of extra demand for blood by the hospitals, due to an increase in accidents as the summer season progresses

With this in mind, the National Blood Transfusion Service is advising that blood donation sessions will be held throughout the month of August at the Outpatients Department of the Gozo General Hospital, Please also encourage others to donate if possible.

It is important that before you go to donate blood to drink a substantial amount of water, and take your ID card, driving license or Maltese passport. The Service thanks in advance everyone who intends to donate.

The sessions will be as follows:

Tuesday, the 1st of August from 1.00pm to 5.00pm

Sunday, the 6th of August from 8.00am to 1.00pm

Tuesday, the 22nd of August from 1.00pm to 5.00pm

Sunday, the 27th of August from 8.00am to 1.00pm.
