Swedish Choir Vox Feminae will be giving a sacred music concert at Saint Augustan’s Church Valletta.

The event is being organised by the JP2 Foundation of Gozo, as part of the 10th anniversary of the JP2 Memorial Festival, while also commemorating the 39th anniversary of the Papacy of Saint John Paul II.

Vox Feminae is made up of about 20 women aged between 25 and 75 years old, and are connected to St Thomas Church in Stockholm/Vallingby, Sweden. They will be conducted by Staffan Krafft, who is also the organist in St. Thomas Church.

On their visit to Malta the choir will sing together with a string quartet named the `Rose Kvartetten,’ which means the Pink Quartet.

The choir have been singing together since the beginning of 2000. They sing at worships, but perform their own concerts as well. They have done several trips abroad. The latest was in May 2014 when they went to Istanbul, Turkey.

The repertoire of the choir is mostly Swedish songs from the 19th Century, but they also sing Hayden, Schubert, Pergolesi and many other composers.

The concert is taking place on Friday, the 6th of October, at 7.30pm, the general public is invited to attend.
